This package will provide MRTG with 95th percentile and an Apache web server running on port 9191 for Windows NT/2000/XP.  You can access the MRTG graphs by going to http://localhost:9191 which points to c:\mrtg\wwwroot.  Installation is a simple double click.

This software installer is licensed under the GNU Public license.  Please see c:\mrtg\gpl.txt file for the full license.


Pre-Installation notes:

The base MRTG folder must be installed from the root of C:.  It must be C:\MRTG.  The installation is hard coded to run from this area.  You must install SNMP on the local machine before running Install.bat if you want it to automatically generate a local MRTG Config file.


Installation:

To install, go into C:\MRTG and double click Install.bat.  The install script will perform the following:

1) Install Apache and Cron as services and start those services.  The services will be labeled Apache and Cron in your services file.  You'll find the programs running in your Task Manager as Apache and Cron.

2) Create a mrtg.cfg and index.html file based off your local system.

3) Copy crontab to c:\winnt\system32.


Post-Installation Notes:

Please be aware, that the crontab.log file can grow quite large over time.  It should be located at c:\systemroot\system32\crontab.log.  You should probably delete it once a month or so.

Un-installation:

To uninstall go into C:\MRTG and double click Uninstall.bat.  Uninstall will stop Apache, Cron, and MRTG and remove the services from your computer.  At this point, just delete c:\MRTG and you're done.
